Predictable plot, but a good quick read nonetheless.

I put off purchasing this book because of all the hype around it. I am not a huge fan of marriage for money usually, and I just didn't want the disappointment when I read it. Now, I am kicking myself in the rear wondering what the heck I was thinking!

When Alexa finds herself needing money to help save her family from losing their home, she casts a spell to find Mr. Right. While she isn't so sure it will turn out the way she is hoping, she did try to put in specific details on what she is looking for in this man. One of the main things is money to help her family. It is the only reason she is even attempting to do this.

Nicholas Ryan is rich and a loner. He doesn't do commitment and he doesn't want a family. He is focused on his career and growing his business. In order for him to inherit his father's business, he needs to get married. His sister, who is friends with Alexa, decides to intervene and propose a solution for both. What starts out as a contract of convenience, quickly becomes a battle of sexual wills.

Alexa lies to Nick and tells him that she is going to use the $150,000 for an expansion to her book store. She doesn't want him to know the real reason she agreed to the contract. Nick figures she is just out for money and doesn't think he will have any problem with Alexa wanting a commitment. What they think will be an easy year of being married in name only turns out to be a heck of ride for the both of them.

I loved the writing of The Marriage Bargain and the dialogue of each character. I loved how they bantered back and forth while trying to fight the attraction between each other. While the plot is something that has been around in romance books for decades, Jennifer Probst brings the characters to life with her wonderful writing. I am now anxiously waiting the next book in the series and have added this author to my auto-buy list!

If I had bought the book I would have been disappointed, but it was a free download on my e-reader so I couldn't be too disappointed with it. It was so predictable and cliched and I didn't feel as if the characters were fleshed out enough to make them interesting.

This was a very cookie cutter story. Everything was predictable. But it's a good book if you're looking for something to not take too seriously, something to take your mind off the day. I don't know if I will read the other books in the series when they come out, but I may if there was nothing else.

Cute, adorable, predictable.. and has dogs.

The Marriage Bargain was definitely one of those books that I just randomly picked on my audible today. I just needed audios to pass the time - because work was long and super boring today. I feel like I flew through a bunch of them and I am kind of happy about that.

In this book, you will meet Alexa and Nicholas. Of course these two have a rocky past. He was her first kiss and crush.. and he basically broke her heart saying that she had potential. THEY WERE KIDS GUYS! I don't really remember the age.. maybe 6? maybe 8?

Years later.. well, these two are in a pickle. They need to marry someone but for different reasons. In the end, these two obviously make a bargain with one another (hence the title guys!). It was cute that they thought this was going to stay that way... haha/lol/lmfao okay guys.

No, their plan went to shit. They started developing feelings for each other. The attraction was there. The chemistry was there. Then there was a baby from all that jazz. Yup, and of course that caused some drama between the two. Eventually they got over it and wanted to actually become a real family.

Of course, their marriage in the beginning was a lie.. but lines were crossed and it became real. It was adorable. I loved it and all of the dogs in this book. I will probably, most definitely, be diving into the next book of this series sometime this year.

Quick read, predictable, but satisfying all the same. The writing was tight and the push and pull between the MC's entertained.

I absolutely loved the characters. Nick as much as Alexa. A really nice and light romance for a relaxing moment.

J'ai adoré les personnages. Autant Nick qu'Alexa. Une très très belle romance et une histoire légère pour un bon moment de détente.
