This plot goes under the marriage-of-convenience , and childhood friends-to-lovers tropes. If you are into these tropes then you will definitely adore this book. The story is predictable but undeniably fun and easy to read.

But if you are planning to listen to the audiobook in Audible then I am stopping you right now. The narrator sounded cringy and it definitely affected my listening experience.

Okay so it was good and I love fake dating/marriage. The tension was fantastic and the female protagonist was one of my favs. I enjoyed this book a lot and it kept me hooked the whole time but nothing about it shook me or made me love it.

It was good. “Embarrassing-I’m-reading-a-romance-novel” cover on it though, so I read it as quickly as possible! Back to my normal genres now!

Wasnt really sure if this would be a worth while book. Read the back I figured I could guess what happened. But slowly through each page I fell more in love with the story. It kept me wanting more and never wanting to put it down. Took about a day to finish. Very easy read :)

Alexa's first kiss was amazing, until Nick ruined it all by breaking her heart immediately afterwards.

Fast forward fifteen years later, Nick needs a wife to fulfill a clause in his Uncle's will, but he only needs a wife for one year. Alexa needs $150,000 to save her mother's home. They strike up a bargain and quickly get married, despite their disdain for each other and of course their COMPLETE LACK of chemistry. Sounds like the perfect bargain, until their hearts get involved.

The entire premise was preposterous, including the ruse to trick the family. However, the banter and steam made up for the absurdities. Perfect book for reading in the yard while keeping one eye on a wily three year old.

A decent read, but nothing spectacular. Oh, but how do I hate public scenes of forgiveness and reunion :/
