Everything that could go wrong indeed went wrong. It's heavy on lessons learned and seeking forgiveness, but the characters can't catch a break. There are happy moments, but overall, it's all regret and despair. Despite hoping for some good news, the more I read, the more challenges arise. There are multiple POVs, extensive world-building, a detestable villain, and a major cliffhanger.

Honestly though, if the series had an editor, it would rate far higher. The characters and world has sucked me in, I just wish the writing was better, and someone helped the authors cut out unnecessary repetition
