This book needs to exist and its a story everyone needs to hear. It is not a happy story. It is a convicting story, one I couldn't help but feel a certain amount of discomfort as I thought of my own Maya. I wont be adding this to the home library, but I will make sure to read it to my daughter at least once.

Wow. Powerful book about bullying. Pair this with Wonder by R.J. Polacio for a fantastic unit on the power of kindness, or with Judy Blume's classic Blubber.

Staggeringly beautiful story about regret.

Such a sad ending to this tender reflection on kindness... or rather, a lack thereof.

This book is a perfect way to introduce the concept of kindness to young children. The power of our actions is something that even adults can forget to consider. While the ending is a bit disappointing, it does reiterate the fact that sometimes in life you don't get a second chance to make things right. It's a beautiful and poignant message.

How is this 7 minuet audiobook the most bummer of all?

This is a great little book about the importance of kindness and how each moment is an opportunity for good. We either choose to use that moment for good and by showing kindness to the people and creatures around us, or we don't and we lose the moment forever.

Jaqueline Woodson and E.B. Lewi have a sublime way of transmitting their theme that will linger in the reader's heart and mind.
