The king is dead. The man who killed him has kidnapped Alizeh. Kamran quickly realizes how much his grandfather protected him. Ready or not it's his turn to reign. Unfortunately, he has no idea who he can trust. Alizeh is shocked when Cyrus announces that he has been ordered to marry her by the devil. Everyone wants Alizeh to agree and become the queen Everyone has been waiting for. This was a great read. I enjoyed both story lines.

Look, I really like the premise of this series and think its very compelling overall. But nothing really all that important happens in this book - it's used entirely as a set up for the third book and after the slow plot in the first installment, my patience has worn out. I guess it remains to be seen if I'm wrong, but I was very frustrating by how there's entirely no action taken here, the characters are at basically the same place as before with minimal character development, if any at all.

C’était très intense, comme Tahereh Mafi sait très bien écrire ses livres, notamment dans les relations entre personnages, mais au-delà de ça… j’ai un peu eu l’impression qu’il ne se passait pas grand-chose pendant 400 pages. J’ai l’impression que c’est un peu un tome « transitoire », donc j’ai hâte de voir ce que le prochain réserve !
