This is not something that you'd expect from a Stephen King's book. It doesn't involve supernatural stuff or weird mind connections. Yet i found it much scarier.
Because every story is plausible, every story could be happening right now as i read about it and I hold my breath rooting for the main characters. It made me question everything, and ask if I really know the people I have around.
Perphaps is not the best book I have ever read, but it definitely changed something inside of me. Deeply recommend

My first Stephen King and it was a good one.  Very dark, very difficult content in several places, but King does a good job of shining a light on the unsavory.  I'm not sure how someone comes up with some of these ideas, but...wow.  1922 was very Tell Tale Heart-esque.  Big Driver was the hardest to read and also the character I rooted for most.  Fair Extension was interesting and the character I hated the most.  Good Marriage was also difficult but also very realistic I felt like.  The things that go on inside a person's head...King captured these very well.  I very much enjoyed my first dip in the King waters.

This book contains 4 novellas/short stories and so it's hard to rate the book as whole, so let's break it down.

1922: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Big Driver: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fair Extension: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A Good Marriage: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I gave the book 5 stars overall and 3 of the 4 stories got 5s from me too. The only one I gave a 4 to was Big Driver. It was the longest of the bunch, dragged a tiny bit in the middle, and the ending was a kind of sad I don't like, true to life, but sad.

The other three were all five stars in my opinion. This book has a LOT of difficult subject matter, so be sure to check content warnings before reading if you have any specific triggers.

What I got from these novellas is:
Male revenge/justice is evil, amoral and cruel while female revenge/justice is warranted, girlboss, valid. Couldnt agree more
