The universe was nice, and I liked the idea of the Acorna character, but this book was so badly written. There was no tension, everything was a lot of "rush around and accidentally fall into an easy way out of danger."
Too many POV! This should have been someone's story, not everyone all together.

As a long time fan of Anne McCaffrey, i have had this series on my to read for a while. This book was fun, interesting and had a unique plot, but it didn't grab me like other books I've read from AM.

Perhaps it is aimed at slightly younger readers, it had a heartwarming story of found family and good friends.

It took me a while to get into, which maybe made it harder for me to keep track of all the characters introduced and side plots to follow, but they were nicely written to all lead to a satisfying solution.

I read this one a while ago. I do like it but not as much as her Pern series. Still it's cute. Maybe better for kids.

I don't get the fuss and kind of have FOMO. I don't think Anne McCaffrey is for me.

Well put together sci-fi fantasy novel in space! Loved the world building and detail without being bogged down. The characters were all interesting and relateable. The pacing was perfect and everything flowed smoothly, no stumbling over awkward names and phrases. I want to read the next one in the series.

Well written and interesting universe but a little too dark of a villain for me.
