I really liked the art style used in this book. I also appreciated the history tied in with the fictional aspects of the plot. The story was obviously fictional but relied admirably on elements that reflected truths about the Holocaust - the most devastating parts of the plot were true. I also appreciated the short comic featured in the back of the book.

Interesting to see an alternative Magneto origin than the movies, but I didn’t personally enjoy this one as much. I thought the story was powerful but wished it had been about Max becoming Magneto

What a wonderful wonderful read.

This book is set before Magneto even discovered his mutant powers. Set in Europe, when the Nazis were systematically massacring Jews, this story explores the tragic origins of the boy who will grow up to be the leader of Brotherhood of Mutants.
