absolutely enjoyed this book. I liked the storyline behind it all. The female heroism. Definitely a spicy thriller! The spice wasn’t cringy but it was there. I didn’t realize this was part of a series and now I can’t wait to read the next one to see how it carries on from this one. The ending left me wanting more.

3.75

I'm conflicted on whether to give this a 3.75 or a 4 because while I DID really enjoy this and flew through it in one sitting, I don't think this is a book that I would reread. It was a good thriller, don't get me wrong; the short choppy chapters really worked to build suspense and I was on the edge of my seat for the climax. It just didn't give everything I wanted it to give.

I liked how we got an insight into Deanna's life as a camgirl; I don't know if it was accurate, but it was still interesting to read about nonetheless. I wish we would've focused more on the whole fantasizing-about-murder aspect of her than the camming since one aspect was more integral to the plot than the other, but it was fine.

That being said, the author made some choices that I didn't really agree with. Jeremy as a whole I didn't particularly like. He honestly gave me creepy vibes for the most part, especially with the entire scene where he pretty much breaks into her apartment. I REALLY don't like how that scene went and how they were playing it off to be hot when it really...was not.

That being said, I did like the ending. Everything got wrapped up pretty neatly, and I'm happy that Deanna got her hopeful ending even if I don't really like the guy she got it with.

In term of erotic thriller, this books gave the right ambience. Deanna was extremely pretty and sexy, and at the same time, the insides of her mind was extremely disturbing and haunting. She was the epitome of the anti-heroine people will root for, and even though this book definitely has a problem with its pacing, I stayed because of her. She's just that alluring, and leaving me wanting for more.

But for the aspect of thriller itself, this book was so lacking. Deanna was a wasted potential in this one. With a character like her, the author could provide a more brutal and bloody storyline which would suit the intense buildup since the beginning. It's too bad, actually.

Still, I'll read the next two books. I wonder what would became of Deanna and the potential hero.
