Dreamy love story.

Buttercups so stupid, but what an absolute comedic classic

I grew up on this movie and it is still one of my favorites, so reading the book was SO much fun with the characters’s voices in my head. The original author and the abridged version author are both very witty and funny, highly recommend. I read the 30th anniversary addition!

This is the best book i have ever read because it has many genres in it and it is fit for all audiences. The theme is great and its title is well deserved.

Such an enjoyable and fun work of metafiction which reminds us how important key aspects of storytelling—character, relationships, stakes—are.

Still one of my favourite books of fiction.

I hadn’t read Buttercup’s Baby previously, and don’t feel like I was missing out. Much of it is spent on the frame story, either about Morgenstern’s version or the current family/editor drama.

So the next time I read the Princess Bride, I won’t bother with the ‘addendum’.

Fun, quick read, but the movie is better. There are a few fun backstory additions, but also some misogyny (like buttercup being stupid as well as helpless) that are annoying.
