I read this back when I was a teenager and then I read this story again to my kids when they were little, a chapter or 2 at a time at bedtime and they loved it. This is a great story and I found it better than the movie. I do love the movie, though. "farm boy! fetch me that pail of water!" ... "as you wish."

A classic. I read this book every year, it is one of my favorite movies and books of all time. This is a book I always recommended to friends and family.
This may be the first time I have ever thought the movie was better than the book. For the most part it was spot on, but almost every iconic movie quote was not in there. Where things went wrong was the sequel chapter that’s included in the end. I wish I could scrub it from my memory and I suggest if you read the book… stop at the happily ever after.
