Kenzie is a 17-year-old who undergoes a dramatic change the summer she visits her grandma in California. She meets Isaac and falls in love for the first time. She encounters demonic spirits and becomes a Christian. Upon arriving back home in Washington, she fights feelings for Tanner, who also became a Christian over the past summer. She is dealing with her mom's weird new boyfriend, a statue in the living room, and seeing demonic spirits everywhere. Why is it so hard now that she's a Christian? Shouldn't her senior year be fun? What a heartfelt story of family, growing up, choices, life, heartache and peace. Life isn't meant to be easy for Christians. Kenzie's story portrays that beautifully. Extremely well written, with excellent insight into the mind of a Christian teenager. I love it.
