I should have known that any book that has in the first page the line "can it be that I, insert character name, will be ....." as a way if introducing the main character would go on in the same way right through the end. Not a fan of the style.

Wow...that last 20% was INSANE!!!!
This one was much better than the first book. Will definitely have to get to book 3 a lot sooner than I got to this one.
Liking this and curious to see where this will go now in the next one.

How do I describe the emotions I went through throughout this book. I think I hit just about every one possible.
Picking up from the cliffhanger from If I Were You I was anxious to get right into this one. Then I was excited for Chris to be back in full force and ready to commit to Sara, no in between.
"You're inside me now, baby. All the rest was how I stayed outside myself and I'll be damned if I let it tear us apart."
The heat in this book was palpable damn near every page!
"Let's go home where I can fuck what you've made me feel out of my system and you can do the same."
The suspense was killing me. Where is Rebecca? What the fuck is up with Ava? How does Mark really fit into all of this? Where the fuck is Rebecca? What is really tormenting Chris?
Then whoaaa suddenly we get a glimpse into the darkness that Chris is trying to hide from Sara. I. Was. Shaking. I didn't know what was coming but is it wrong that I was sort of happy that it didn't go in a direction I was afraid of? I mean the actual direction is pretty dark and I just know that it probably hasn't even reached the surface yet.
I cannot wait to start Revealing Us. I'm giving my emotions a break to write this review and check Facebook than I'll be pulling an all-nighter on book #3.

Wow - book one left me with my jaw on the floor from a major cliffhanger and I was so glad I could immediately jump into this book. I loved this book even more than the first, and that’s saying a lot. Normally sequels rarely live up to my expectations, but I’m happy to say this one was everything and more than I expected!

We pick up right where we left off in the first book, with Sara and Chris trying to figure out what happened to Rebecca. But along the way, they are also trying to figure out their relationship and how they can make it work. Sara doesn't want to be controlled, due to issues with her past, and Chris has his own demons keeping him from being truthful and being himself with her. They have to overcome a lot, which is part of the beauty of this story. It’s full of passion, suspense, mystery – but most incredible is their love story. They have an amazing love and connection and I absolutely LOVE them as a couple. There is no shortage of drama that will challenge their relationship – but it makes the story all the more amazing.

Thankfully, this book doesn't end on a major cliffhanger like the first. You will get your answers about Rebecca and some closure. It will, however, leave a lot of unanswered questions that will keep you anxious for the third book to be released! I can’t wait to read it!

Readability: ★★★★
Overall: ★★★★

If I Were you followed Sara as she tried desperately to find out how and why Rebecca disappeared. Armed only with Rebecca’s journals, full of tantalizing hints about Rebecca’s ‘Master’, Sara steps into Rebecca’s life to try and determine whether she left by choice…or by force.

In Being Me, the hunt for Rebecca is ongoing, but it felt like a slightly smaller part of the plot than in the first book. There’s a larger focus, in my opinion, on the development of both Chris and Sara, as well as the growth of their relationship, in this book. Lots more about Sara’s past will become clear, and she grows a lot as a character, attempting to live her own life, rather than living Rebecca’s as she arguably did in If I Were You.

If I had to try and quantify the slightly different feel to the novels, I’d have said If I Were You felt like 60% mystery:40% romance, whilst Being Me is the other way around. There’s certainly still enough mystery to keep you engrossed, but I felt more invested in Chris and Sara (as well as their relationship) as a result of the increased focus on them in Being Me. Chris and Sara’s pasts and troubles mean their relationship faces some serious bumps, and you may well find yourself wondering whether you’re rooting for the wrong man at times! Obviously as well as the emotional side to their relationship, there is some seriously steamy romance, without any graphically kinky or intense elements that may offend some readers.

As well as Chris and Sara, the supporting characters are wonderful. Dylan is a fantastic addition to the plot, managing to sometimes lighten up the story and at other times put you through an emotional rollercoaster! We also find out a lot more about Mark, and see some other sides to him, which made for great reading.

The mystery, though not as dominant in If I Were You will still have you reading on desperately, feverishly trying to put clues together to determine the Master. The story is faster-paced and I know I personally found it hard not to say “I’ll just read one more chapter”. Still filled with the clues from the journals and Sara’s musings on various characters in Rebecca’s life, the apprehension and suspense that kept me glued to If I Were You persist throughout Being Me. Having said that, there is also more ‘real-life action’; dramatic events and revelations that’ll have you on the edge of your seat.

It’s very difficult to say too much more without giving away spoilers, so I’ll leave it there! What you really need to know is that questions about Rebecca’s disappearance will be answered, including the identification of her Master. Chris, Sara, Mark and various minor characters are fantastic, and as always Lisa Renee Jones’ writing is wonderful. The only limitation for me was that sometimes I felt like Chris and Sara were a bit too up-and-down, occasionally making me want to give one or the other of them a good shake!

I liked this book it had a sexy suspense about it that was addictive, but I feel like the plot and storyline got pushed to the side and I got more sex than was needed.. I wanted to know more about Mark and Rebecca and more about her disappearance and I feel like everything got revealed very fast... I just wanted more sleuthing and more mystery... I will be reading the third book...

It's not been too long since I reviewed the first book in this series, If I Were You. I enjoyed this book almost as much as the first one. This book begins smack dab where the last one left off with Sara in the storage locker just as the power went out. I am just glad I didn't have to wait too long for this book to come out!

Sara is still enjoying her job at the gallery. She intends to stay there so she does end up resigning from her job at the school. She hasn't forgotten about Rebecca though. She is more determined than ever to find out what happened to her. She is also desperate to find out what has is going on with Chloe, she hasn't talked to her since she left the country to marry her mystery man. She hasn't been in contact with anyone at all. Sara gets increasingly more worried when the start of the school year comes closer and she still doesn't show up and she hasn't called to let them know that she won't be returning to work.

Chis is hot as ever in this book. He shows us a couple different sides in this book. He is spending a lot of time out of town doing charity events for a hospital where he donates money. He has taken a particular interesting in a young man that is dying of cancer. He has becomes very close with his family as well since he spends so much time with him. When he's with Sara his is becoming increasingly over-protective of her and he wants to know where she is when she isn't with him. We see a much darker side of Chris as well when something tragic happens and he retreats into the world that he is trying to hide from Sara.

Some secrets are revealed in this book, some much darker than others. Some story lines are closed and new ones opened up. We learn more about Mark in this book...not much, but a little bit. I think that I liked him better in this book than I did the last one though. Through getting to know him and seeing a lighter side of him it's clear to see how women are so taken with him even though they can see how dangerous he can be.

The ending of this book didn't leave me particularly happy. It's not really a cliffhanger like the last one, but it's an ending that changes the dynamic of the whole story. I am anxious to see where the next book takes Sara, I just hope we don't have to wait to long for it to be released!

If you enjoyed the last book then you definitely need to pick this one up. It's dark and sexy, most definitely an adult read. Same content "warnings" as in the last book. I do think that this is a read again series for me, I just like the characters that much and I do think that Ms. Jones writes a very good story.

I really enjoyed this novel. Sarah and Chris are two individuals who are damaged and you can see how holding on to their baggage becomes explosive.

The only problem I have with this series is the fact that it moves so fast. They meet, they fall in love, they fight, and it's all within a couple of weeks.

I found myself enthralled with this novel. The erotic scenes are definitely erotic and they definitely made me wish for a Chris of my own. I cannot wait to see what the next novel holds for us. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

This one doesn't hold quite as big of a cliff hanger as the first novel did but it doesn't really end with closure. If you're someone who needs all the answers you might want to wait until the next in the series comes out.
