I liked this but am not sure as to why the extra stories showed up twice along with their intros.

I won this copy through Goodreads First Reads.

First off, I love Archie comics; so, so much. There are stacks of Archie Comics all over my house, even after sending more than 2 dozen to my best friend in England. Secondly I need to mention that I knew how this ended before I got it because I read the Canada issue once when I saw it in a shop, I had no context to what I was reading at that time though.

That's the context for how I walked into this graphic novel, I thought you should know it. Now for my review of it.

Overall I liked it, a classic fun Archie story that kept me engaged. I loved the fact pages that were included for each location (except Montreal for some reason?). That being said there are a few things I didn't like/a few things I think could have been done better. For starters, there were WAY too many characters involved in this given the length of the story. Because there were so many characters the focus was all over the place and you end up not being able to really invest yourself in any of the stories and then there's a bunch of loose ends come the ending. I know the primary focus was supposed to be on the tour itself and the shows, with the Valerie/Archie story line being the most important sub-plot, but I wish they had spent more time on the Valerie/Archie subplot, it was just far too rushed. Actually the entire thing felt rushed and again I think that goes back to the excess of characters.

Is this the first time that it's ever mentioned that Betty is trying to start a girl group? That seemed to come completely out of nowhere and seemed more like something I'd expect from Veronica, Cheryl or Alexandra...oh gods could you imagine if those 3 decided to join forces and start a band!?!

So those are my thoughts on this graphic novel. Fans of Archie and co. will enjoy it. My only wish is that it were longer and more in depth given the scope and scale.
