Okay story, okay characters. Could use improvement with the thriller aspect because it felt shallow despite the seriousness of the subject matter. There were some cringey things also lol. Overall just okay.

this is a new series that i have just started and a new author as well. I came across Milinda Leigh by accedent while brousing my updates on goodreads. i noticed somebody had read this book so went streight on to audible to see if i could get it as it sounded good. I found the book really good and love the characters in it. Grant and elley were developed really well and i thought the story was very suspensful and good. i am looking forward to the other two books in the series featuring the barrot brother and sister hannah and max.

Grant is called home from war due to his brother Lee & sister in law being murdered. He, his sister Hannah, & brother Mac are trying to find out why they were killed. Years of being apart brings the family closer together while caring for their niece and nephew along with the neighbors next door. Solving a murder, stalking, and an attraction to the neighbor sets things in motion for this fast paced book. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Hour of Need is the first (but definitely not the last) Melinda Leigh book I've read. A soldier is sent home from Afghanistan due to a death in the family. Watching him transform from a hard, emotionless, duty-before-all-else man is wonderful. (And the scene where he wears a wig is fantastic). This story was fabulous! A little mystery mixed with love and family, heartbreaking and heart warming all in the same breath! If you're looking for a good story of family and romance this is great! I would have liked a little more action from the mystery end, but it still earns 5 stars from me!

Truly enjoyed this one!
I enjoyed this one. It was an easy steady pace to follow. I starting a little late as I was introducing to these characters by way of another series of hers and Kendra. Can't wait to see what happens next!
