I loved the beginning. It was crazy! Unbelievable. Then I find out half way though that it's not even true. "Dropped" means I didn't finish.

I never was involved in the Oprah hype of book buying and selling. Her opinion does not matter to me. I read this book because I enjoyed his other book BRIGHT SHINY MORNING. It was also on a bookshelf at work.
Whether or not this book is a true story does not matter to me. And again, I could care less about Oprah's opinion. I enjoyed it regardless. There are parts of the book where he tends to repeat himself a bit and ramble but I like the story and definitely enjoy James Frey books.
He definitely wrote the book well enough for me to feel compassion for the 'Characters.'

I'm putting this on my "read" shelf only to get it off my other shelves. I only read about 40 pages of the book and do not care to finish it. As an editor, it is impossible for me to overlook all of the nontraditional grammatical choices, which seem to me pointless or gratuitous, and the subject matter and language certainly don't make me want to read on. Thanks, but no thanks.

I enjoyed reading this book. It did seen a little over dramatic to me. And now seeing people say it isn't actually bothers me a bit. But overall I did enjoy reading it and I read it fairly quickly.

It took me a while to read this book because of the way it is written. Sometimes it becomes hard to tell who is talking, and so forth. It was a good read until I found out there was a controversy surrounding this book about it being fake. Killed a lot of the mood, but I still kept reading.
