Eh...it felt like a morality tale with no real moral. Some lovely sentences, but not my favorite overall.

I'm not a huge fan of short stories. When I start reading anything it usually takes 20 pages before I start settling into a storyline. I need that time in order to focus my attentions and to get the imaginative juices flowing. Short stories are over and done with far too quickly for my liking.

D.H. Lawrence is my own mother's favourite author, and although I did enjoy Sons and Lovers, all his other offerings leave me a little cold. He's a very philosophic writer, and for some he is hard to stomach. Love Among The Haystacks and Other Stories is a collection of fictional works with sometimes heavy subject matter that are far too short and concise to make any real impact on the reader.

Of the fourteen short stories I read in my collection, Love Among The Haystacks and A Modern Lover were the only short pieces I enjoyed reading.

Just not what I like. I expected a lot from this book, and the first story although predictable was still enjoyable to read. The rest of it, not so much. Gave up over halfway through, since I was just wasting my time trying to finish this in the hopes of giving it 3 stars.

I suddenly remember reading this book in the 5th grade. Don't remember anything about it except that i liked the word "Among".
