I enjoyed this! I loved the set-up of a historical romance set in the wild Wild West. It’s definitely a setting we don’t see a lot of and I wished there were more books out there like this! The writing style flowed so nicely that I got through it really quickly.

While this was a fun read, I would have loved to see a much quicker pace and far more focus on the main couple, i.e pip and Morgan. They’re development as a couple/plot line felt so second place to the overall story which was kinda frustrating. We had sooo little page time of their interactions, but when we did get a few crumbs I loved it. I don’t think they actually met until about 30 percent into the book

This one started off so strong for me. One of those that 5 pages in you think hot damn, 5 stars here we come. I can’t quite put my finger on where this one went wrong. It was still fine, just not the enthusiastic 5 stars I predicted in chapter 1.

3.5 stars. Sweet with some funny characters, but some how felt a little flat.

I love this series! Such unique storytelling for historical romance, especially with Junebug's hilarious narration. The western setting is very atmospheric.

The strength and determination of both Pip and Morgan are great. The raw grieving and conflict in Morgan is incredibly well done. And his relationship with Junebug is so heartfelt. It was fantastic to see Pip grow to believe in herself and be her own advocate - it made the romance so much better.

I'm really hoping to see more of this series!
