Elle and Darcy go on a disastrous first date that neither of them wants to remember. But when a misunderstanding between Darcy and her brother result in him thinking they hit it off, they plot a fake relationship for both of their benefits. But, as thing go, nothing that starts fake stays fake.
I love a good fake dating trope. I think that when it’s well done, it is one of my favorite tropes. But this book didn’t do it for me. I struggled to like Darcy and felt like both characters were a little inconsistent. (Especially from their first date to the next chapter. Kind of felt like a personality swap the next time they met.) I also really disliked Brendon and his lack of boundaries. I need to start vetting romances for third act-breakups and/or breakups due to miscommunication because while fake dating is one of my favorites, those two are my absolute least favorites. Structurally, it was well written, I just didn’t vibe

This was fun if you can get past the bombardment of astrology. Solid chemistry and fun writing.
