Great second book in the series, with higher degree of tension over original. This one feels more fiction over original which comes across as a true story. The ending does feel quick , but the ride to it is another fantastic read.

"I wished he’d looked like a monster—with glowering, coal-red eyes and razor-sharp fangs dripping with blood and mangled bits of human flesh, and gleaming, curved claws instead of fingers."
"That would have been more comforting.
"That would have made more sense. "

Once again Richard Chizmar manages to pull me into his storytelling, and I'm following without a single urge to resist.

What I expected of the follow up to Chasing the Boogeyman was delivered and then some.
Riveting and beyond amazing.
But also THAT ENDING???? I hope this means the next book is in the works because I'll need it, yesterday.

I have to keep reminding myself..this isn't a real crime.

A continuation of Chasing the Boogeyman, Josh Gallagher is in jail but someone is using his original MO to murder more women all while putting Chizmar and his family center stage.

I love how he uses photos of his hometown, friends and family as real life victims and witnesses to tell the story.

Also, he really wants you to be jealous that he knows Stephen King. lol

I made it halfway through, then gave up. I really liked the first boogeyman book, but I just could not get into this one. It felt like a rehashing of the previous book; an unnecessary addendum.

I didn't love this as much as the first book. The first book in this series was so unique and I adored the true crime aspect of it. I'm wondering if because I listened to this instead of reading it, I feel differently but it just didn't hit like the first book. I love the interview aspect of this, when unsubs are only responsive to the person who put them in jail is like my kryptonite but this book just felt a little long and lack luster. Not a bad book by any means just wasn't what I wanted or expected.
