Pshycological twist, supernatural, hint of gore, with a badass female protagonist? Sign me up! This was a great read, a little slow in the middle for me but then it picked right back up. First Joe Hill book I've read, looking forward to reading more of his works.

Tightly-written, at times terrifying treat. I always knew I hated Christmas music.

Great first way to experience Hill's novel writing (I have read the Locke and Key graphic novel series).

I will say I'm glad there was a nice "wrap up" I felt that it was missing a little something though.

Kate Mulgrew is absolutely a fantastic narrator for this novel. She does enough creepy voices to fit the needs of this book and I was actually terrified at times.

I've read Joe Hill's graphic novels (Locke & Key) and his debut novel (Heart-Shaped Box) and really enjoyed them, so it was definitely time to try another of his novels; I wasn't disappointed!! He's rapidly becoming one of my favourite horror writers!

This was a difficult story to read, but it was also so difficult to put down. I was totally gripped and, as always, loved the way Joe Hill crafted his story and brought his characters to life. I would happily read another 700 pages of the same...back to Christmasland!

Also, the little nods to his Dad's work, loved that.

This is an amazing horror novel, made even better in audiobook form thanks to Kate Mulgrew's impressive narration skills.

It's a Joe Hill book. It's amazing. That's all I can muster, because I'm emotionally exhausted, but still. It's a really good book.
