Not my favorite. It was well written, but I felt like there were some unnecessary slurs and some of the characters weren't believable or the tropes were laid on a bit too thick. I really don't need a white writer to use the n word in modern fiction unless there is really no other word to progress the story. I was also disappointed with the narration of Kate Mulgrew as well (and I LOVE her) in the audiobook. Some of her character voices made certain characters even less believable and it was distracting. This is one of those few cases where the TV adaptation was better than the book.
