Ultimately this series left me with a big ole "why?" The art style and color language was beautiful, but beyond that, the story never spoke to me. Maybe I the 80s nostalgia stuff went over my head, but the abrasive, aggressive 'we're only friends cuz we gotta be' attitude didn't work for me. Also a poor use of the time travel convention as a whole, when the building blocks for something really cool were right there.

Like any time travel saga, the last leg is always a sprint. Paper Girls sticks the landing. It sticks it like super glue to your favorite shirt you knew you shouldn't wear while crafting. It's painful, it's disruptive, and it is never ever going to get out of your head.

This series started off strong. However, the story of this last volume doesn’t hold up on it’s own and is weaker compared to the other volumes. I am also not really sure what to think of the ending. I still enjoyed it though, and the art work in this was just mesmerizing.
