NOS4A2 is so fucked up but in a good way. I can definitely see this as a TV series or an anime :)

With only 3 novels (and a short story collection, and a comic), Joe Hill has become one of my favorite writes in general (in the genre of supernatural horror he's among the 3 finest, in my opinion, along with his father, Stephen King, and Robert R. Mc Cammon). This book, not quite as scary as his father's early books, but equally disturbing and imaginative, is full of interesting characters (admirable, pitiful, revolting, or a combination of the above), fascinating situations and problems, with a theme of second chances and redemtion through it all. Recommended to all fans of Stephen King :)

i enjoyed this story a lot. it was cool how he played around with the idea of 2 different worlds and reality vs unreality, and i liked how each character had some unique sacrifice they made in order to live out their fantasy. i’d love for joe hill to release a villain origin story about Manx…

I Will Never Think Of Christmas The Same

I don't know what is in the water in the King household, but this family knows how to scare. Joe Hill may not (yet) be as prolific an author as his father, but he has shown that he has just as much skill at crafting a heart pounding thrill ride of a story that makes me more than a little afraid of the dark. NOS4A2 is an intriguing tale of inscapes and escapes...The places of the mind and the struggles of those who can reach then. Vic McQueen is a tragic mess of a human being and yet is an easily loveable main character. She is counterpointed perfectly by Manx in much the same way her Triumph is mirrored by his Wraith...one broken and barely running...one perfect and cruel in its beauty. There are as many moments of clarity in this story as there are moments of shocking violence. I found this book to be both entertaining and frightening, especially in the ways that it twisted the concepts of innocence as seen in both the warped representation of Christmas and the hideous transformations of the children. It's a truly scary read that was well worth the price of admission and sits near the top of my book list for 2013. Just read it!
