Order of the Phoenix was not my favorite of the HP books that I've read so far (that honor still goes to book 3), but it was still an entertaining read. The book definitely has a darker tone than the previous 4 books in the series. I haven't yet seen the movie and am curious to see if the darkness carries over to the film.

Exceptionally well written. It's the biggest Harry Potter book and is , despite all the sadness, one of the best books in the series. It gave me goosebumps at more than one point. It's the book that first has Harry showing teenager problems of anger, desperation, depression and enthusiasm. I loved Harry the most in Order of the Phoenix. 5/5 10/10 100%.

The reason I like this instalment quite a lot is most definitely because we get to see more than just Harry's school life like most of the other books show.
The main thing that brings it down is probably how certain problems just get sweeped under a rug instead of dealt with completely.
I like how this one is quite different that the other books layout. Normally we see a beginning where Harry goes to hogwarts, new characters and normal school life(for Harry and his group at least) and later a problem that leads to this books villain being revealed to work for Voldemort or something.

the mirror… asking nick about being a ghost… just everything about sirius being dead is so awful to me.
