I really enjoyed this short read, loved the premise and the atmosphere as it felt new from normal circumstances of horror books. I only give it four stars because it didn’t have any twists that you couldn’t see coming from the buildup, I wish it was as descriptive as Nick Cutter when it depicted the gore because that would’ve pushed this to five stars, but the goriest moments were brief which is fitting for the length of this novel. It was a fun ride and definitely has you satisfied and thinking, just was hoping to be a bit horrified haha!

This was such a fun story and I had no idea where it was going. It’s truly special to read something full of gore that’s equally sentimental. The afterward was also incredibly sweet.

i really liked the way this ended, it felt very satisfying. but my GOD i was not expecting the level of elder abuse. this is something i have always really struggled to read about/see, so this part was brutal
