I love the Cloud Prophet trilogy, so when I learned this was connected I had to read it. I would have liked to see the connection in the first book, but I still loved it!

I'm not sure if it's because Sleepers is a breath of fresh air from all the stinky paranormal books I've been reading lately, but I really enjoyed this book.

Sleepers has a great premise and it was very interesting to read, but a little slow to start. Yes, there are some editing issues, mostly repeated phrases in sentences - He has he has the baby - but it doesn't happen often, which is a great feat in a self-published book.

Anyway, the premise is interesting and well-developed and there is a fun, well-rounded mix of magical intrigue, thrilling action, and romance. All in all, it's a pretty good little book.

Sleepers is the kind of book that leaves you contented. Although the book does end in cliffhanger, and there is much more to the story, it didn't quite give me that riveted, on-the-brink-of-vomiting feeling that I get when I reach the end of a mind-blowing story and can't wait to get my hands on the next book. Sure it was a fun, grabbing read, but mostly when I was actually reading it.

In summary, I do recommend this book. It was enjoyable and fun, just a little forgettable.

A wonderful and inspiring series on par with Megg Jensen's other series "The Cloud Prophet trilogy". Just like the rest of Megg's book, the human and relatable characters, unique worlds, and beautifully detailed story captivates you, drags you in, draws you under and completely immerses you in a fantasy land you never want to leave, leaving you breathless and wanting more. I cannot honestly wait to pick up the rest of the books!

This book had a great plot and storyline however...
It was waaaaayyy too fast.
It wasn't even long enough for me to actually develop feelings for the characters.
I wanted to be happy or sad for events that took place but it was way too fast I couldn't. I like I would have if there was more background to the story and each character. And the scenes to be slower.

It really does have such potential

REVIEW:
Sleepers is a beautifully crafted young adult fantasy novel, that was extremely original and exciting from beginning to end. Megg Jensen created memorable characters with so many twist and turns I was surprised with every turn of the page.

Sleepers follows Lianna on of the children giving to the enemy the Fithians. As she grows she becomes the best friend and assistant to the Queen and her children. Her people the Dalagans were once known for the blood having magic within them, but were defeated by the Fithians and the children were taking as a peaceful offering. But on Lianna’s sixteenth birthday she finds out that the magic is still there in her blood and everything changes. She must choose who to trust and find out what lies are actually true.

Jensen created a wonderful set of characters, Sleepers follows not only Lianna but also the two boys given to the enemy. Bryden is the youngest who is quiet and crimpled from an accident when he was a child. Kellan is the eldest who acts as a fighter and a leader. Both boys care for her and hope that Lianna will choose them. The chemistry between each boy and Lianna I felt was what really made the story. I can’t say much more without giving away important details because as the story moves forwards it’s clear whom she will choose.

This was a very fast paced story, with Lianna being a loyal and smart lead character. She is a warrior at heart and brought to life the world Jensen created with twist, turns and fantastic moments. I can’t wait to see what happens next with the ending leaving me curious to what will happen next. I highly recommend the Swarm Series.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is a young adult book with vivid battle scenes and memorable characters. Fans of the Mortal Instrument series and Hunger Games, I feel will enjoy this new series.

Although this is a full novel, it felt quite short. The story had a fast pace to it, maybe too fast, it almost felt rushed, like the author was skipping things.

The characters were well described as were the surroundings. The dialogue was adequate, however it too felt rushed.

I do feel that this series has more to offer and I hope the author makes the next book(s) less rushed.

Having said that, I still enjoyed the overall plot and even more enjoyed the multi plot twists towards the end - genius!!

Overall this is a great book and I look forward to des covering the next installment.

I received this as an e-arc from Netgalley in return of an honest review

I am sure someone would love this book. It is a classic YA novel with a heroin in bad circumstances, who is destined for something greater. But personally this book was not me cup of tea. Here is why; first of the characters are very important for me if I am going to give a book a good rating. They need to be real and relatable. These characters were not. They were way too cartoon-ish and were either good or bad. The story didn't have any gray areas like the real world does. I couldn't relate to the characters at all and on top of that the author gave away way too much too early. I like it when the reader is eased into the storyline and slowly get to know the characters. It makes the whole thing more real. The main character sounded like she was telling her story to someone inside her head and it was a huge turn off. The author tried to be subtle sometimes but it just didn't really work.
