I've definitely read better stories by Follett, but this one wasn't the worst. There were some plot holes, and a few of the character relationships were awkward and poorly developed, but the writing kept me interested enough to finish.
This was OK. This is only the second Follett I've read and was expecting a little more. However, the whole story took place a few days with a variety of characters. Was fun.
Oh dear, I'm not sure what the fuss is about Ken Follet. Poor writing, cardboard characters and sex scenes that make 50 Shades sound high brow. No more Mr F for me.
a disappointment compared to the Pillars of the Earth and Eye of the Needle. It never got past formulaic and feeling like i was reading a "how to write a science mystery" text. the characters were stiff and the dialogue forced. i did enjoy that the characters referred to the criminals as "gangsters" because there was a gang (4) of them. other than that, my general feeling was "meh".
As always Follett writes a great page-turner. But, everything that happened was not really believable and it was like "really?! how are they still alive." Everything was wrapped up in a pretty bow and sometimes I like to read stuff with mess and a not-so-great ending.
Mildly entertaining, plot meh. Lê-se rápido, é a única coisa positiva. Devia ficar-se pela ficção histórica na minha opinião
I enjoy Ken Follett's writing style, though not all of his books (and the few I've read most recently haven't been my favorites). This one I really enjoyed.
Fun thriller with lots of twist, turns, romance and Ken Follett’s racy scenes.
Family drama set against theft of a deadly virus from a bio-research facility in the Scottish countryside during a Christmas blizzard.
If you liked this one try Stephanie Meyer’s The Chemist. It is a bit more violent be warned...
