Quick and smooth read - fell in love with all the characters and empathized easily with them all.

I originally gave this read 4/5 on my blog, but just now I went and edited it to a 3/5. I can't pinpoint much that was "wrong" with this read, but I just don't think it impacted quite the way I expected it to, and I think the hype definitely got to me with this one. Because so many love and adore this book, going so far as to call it life-changing and thought provoking, I think I was influenced to give it a slightly higher score than I intended. I just don't know why but it wasn't a big "Oh my, God" book for me. I wanted it to be, and I can see parts of it that do move me. Don't get me wrong, I do have a heart and not a rock in my chest. But still, something about this was just a tad... off.

Overall, I do think it was worth the read. But I've walked past Where She Went so many times now, I've put it in my trolley (while doing my food shop) and took it back out again twice. If I have to do that with a sequel, then it clearly wasn't a life changer for me.

I felt this book was much too overhyped and frankly I preferred the movie :/

So I can't say I loved this book. The story wasn't bad, I just did not like the way it was written with all the flash backs. I love to fall in love with my characters from the beginning. I don't feel like i got a chance to do that in this book. I was just thrown into the story and suppose to care.

2.4 I just didn't get the emotional whirl I expected. There was a very disconnected feeling throughout the whole story. I found no connection to the main character or her ordeal. This was not a book for my taste

This is a story the involves of the hardest choices that a young adult could ever possibly have to make in his or her life. I think it puts high school and the choices one has to make there into perspective. It also speaks to the will to live and how deep that is found within us.

If I Stay
⭐️⭐️⭐️
I liked this book but I wasn’t a fan of the writing style, unfortunately.
It was really fascinating to read about the recent events of Mias life until the accident, though it was sad to read a scene of her family together and then later remembering that they’re gone.
