I have never read anything quite this beautiful. Charlotte Brontë is a genius and I am in love with her and her way with words.

The descriptions of nature and setting were absolutely stunning and everything is so vividly portrayed. You can feel the crisp autumn air on your skin, smell the hay in summer, vividly picture every flower, hear every storm and see the candles flickering on cold winter nights. So incredibly beautiful.

I just loved the language, the way this is written. And the romance is not the central drama, just one of several as Jane finds her way.

Painful. Reading this should be used as a torture method. I’d crack at the first line. I wish I died along with his wife in the fire just so I didn’t have to read it.

At moments, I really enjoyed reading this book. At other moments, it found the story rather boring and dull. As a consequence, I stopped reading for a while during every boring part, and so it took me over two years to finish this book.
Wouldn't read it again, wouldn't necessary recommend it, but I'm happy to have read this classic.

I don’t know why I loved this book so much. The story is twisted and totally disturbing but it’s INCREDIBLY interesting. Even though I definitely didn’t fangirl over the relationship between Mr Rochester and Jane Eyre (Can we all admit how messed up it is?!) I found myself slightly rooting for them and I couldn’t put the book down. The writing was unique and good and Jane was a very like able character (despite her choice of men....). All in all, a good book and I will read it again!
