Outside of the teen an YA novels i'm into this is one of the best second book in a trilogy i've ever read. sure it was really dark and sad but twist after twist i couldn't put it down when i had the time to read.

Didn't grab me and was a slog to get through. Didn't mesh with his writing style or characters very much and it was a little too much women violence for me

Shocked that this book has above a 4-star rating on here. Admittedly, I did enjoy Lisbeth taking more of the spotlight because, frankly, I find Blomkvist boring and tedious. But is Lisbeth compelling enough to salvage a plot that is the equivalent to a Swedish telenovela? Is Lisbeth compelling enough to overlook the increasing hostility towards the queer community in the narrative (to be clear: I don't know if the author or the translator were homophobic, and I don't have any speculations on the matter; there is, however, undoubtedly homophobic and sexist material in tbe novel)? I don't think so. Plop Lisbeth Salander in a plot and cast of characters that can match her caliber, and I'll read that book. I will not be back for any installments in this series, however.

if you want the most literal interpretation of 'kill men energy' .. boy do i have the book for you.

i thought that this might flop since it is the second book in the series and surprisingly, it held up really well!

i appreciate how the plot was well differentiated from the past book but just kept the characters (obviously). i was sceptical about having lisabeth and mikael not directly together however, their method of communication was actually quite fun. their bond is actually cute whether you see it as platonic or romantic (personally i see it more platonic)

i appreciate how the plot was well differentiated from the past book but just kept the characters (obviously). the sex trafficking plot line made a lot of sense and was able to introduce interesting elements/history into the story.

the writing/translation maintains its high standard which was reassuring. now i kind of have to read the third book of stieg larsson's series since this ended on a cliffhanger.

this was the one book i really wanted to finish before 2022 so yay for achievements?!
