Update 2025:
Skimmed this book today (more like spend 6 hours reading it and skimming over the parts that didn’t involve Bee or Levi) because I read a quote of it on tiktok and didn’t remember it from the book. And I’m ready to change what I said about it, or rather, add to it.
I *think* my issue with this book is that is wasn’t at all like The Love Hypothesis, which is not fair on my part. Bee and Levi wanted the kind of life I don’t and so I based my rating on that. Again, not fair.
Having said that, it really is a spectacular book. It’s clear, even on her second book, how much Ali grew from her debut novel to this one. Levi is a dream and I understand more now how so many people have him as their favorite of Ali’s mmc.
They are such sweethearts and maybe in the future I’ll read it completely and give this book a fair chance again. I really really really loved Levi and how he seemed to understand Bee on a celular level. How honest he was (especially considering his background), how gone he was for her. If only Ali’s mmc existed in real life.
Bee, even though I loved her, I had a harder time relating to. Her bubbly personality seemed so different from Olive’s (which again, good) but besides her being scared to commit, I couldn’t see myself in her. Which, maybe was the reason a had trouble with this book the first time. But even though I couldn’t see myself in her, I understood her and could see myself wanting to be her friend, trying to protect her.
It’s an excellent book, it truly is. And Levi’s declarations (yes, plural) are to die for.

I absolutely hate to write this with my whole being… but… this wasn’t as good as The Love Hypothesis? Ugh. I hate saying that. Maybe it’s that nothing will ever top Adam and Olive (I miss them so much
