It’s a classic ☝️🤓 as they always say. Seriously though this was my first book in life and I will stand with my bias for the rest of my life. It’s just the epic tale of a warrior who needs to become a better man and face the path in front of him. I will say that I come to find parts of my life matching up with the archetypes and themes throughout the story.

Not going to lie: was expecting more.

The most interesting thing to me was the various incarnations/descriptions of the Dawn. The rest, kinda "meh." I mean, interesting in how fickle the gods are, but otherwise thought it'd be something more. I did feel the loss of reading translation at multiple points. But obv. I'm not learning greek just to get through it at a deeper level, so there you have it.

Other interesting things to me:
The frame narrative (stories within stories within stories)
The female archetypes (Patient Penolope, Seductive Circe, Bad-ass- but totally fickle- Athene, etc.)
The role of forgiveness (or lack thereof)
