I loved the characters but didn’t love the story line. Wasn’t bad though!

This was literally so boring.

the worst thing about this book is that it tried to convince me two capricorns could ever be together.

not romantic enough to be a romance book and not funny enough to be a romcom. a zero purpose, fluff book which isn't always a bad thing except it was so boring and honestly? very weird. there is, no joke, a scene where the main characters play-fight and the female lead ends up seductively eating a banana in the middle of it. i wish i could give you literally anymore context, but there is none.

some other weird things:
- giving a white character corn rows
- questionable use of indian culture played for laughs
- too much time given to too many side characters
- the whole "oh my god, look at how many times these characters almost met but never did" thing is like, nice in fanfic but in most cases (and in this one especially) is such a cheap ploy to fake the emotional depth of romance so you can pretend your main characters don't have the allure of wet cardboard

in all fairness, i could tell from 20% in that this was not going to end well for me, but i got invited to a new book club and this is the book for the first meeting I'm attending and i didn't want to show up and be the dick who didn't actually read the pick.

This was such a good love story! I enjoyed it so much. Great read! Just Haven’t Met You Yet is even better so read that next if you haven’t already. Highly recommend!!!

3.5 stars rounded down for the ending.

i loved the characters in this book. but. the endingggggggg noooooo

Spoilerit was so obvious Minnie & Quinn were destined to be in each others' lives. AS FRIENDS. no woman should have to wait around, have the anxiety she had, the fear of his rejection...

when they met up and she told him no, i was so excited... til I saw I still had 40 mins left of the audiobook.

overall, it was really cute and i enjoyed it.

Cutie lil romance book and based in London so I read it with a British accent in my head

A charming, engaging romance that goes back and forth over the years, and in the POVs of both Minnie and Quinn. Their mothers shared a room while giving birth, and they unexpectedly (and in many cases, unknowingly) cross paths over the years, until they officially meet at age 30. I thoroughly enjoyed this story! Yes, it’s a romance, but I found premise unique compared to others. It was definitely a slow-burn! Very cute read and one of the only books I’m aware of that occurs on New Year’s Day. Cheers!

Libby audio. BOTM selection November 2020. I like the sea foam green and pink cover (by Sandra Chiu) better than the one here on GR.
Minnie Cooper, Quinn, bf Leila.

“Life is change. If nothing’s changing, you aren’t living.”

I went and dig out my physical BOTM copy. I liked the author’s P.S. in the acknowledgement section: “This book was written in a pre-COVID world. The 2020 of Minnie and Quinn’s world now exists only in some parallel universe. Whatever the year ahead might bring for us all, let’s keep reading. Books free us from isolation. Stories unite us. We’ve all had to play in one-player mode for a while—but we’re all still in this game together.”

A delightful rom-com! Very much enjoyed the read after so many "heavy" books. Would def watch as a Netflix movie
funny lighthearted slow-paced
