A lovely, charming tale about fate and luck that sparked an intense craving for pie. I enjoyed following Minnie throughout this year of events and how these experiences made her realize that the good fortune she believed for years she was denied wasn't guaranteed after coming into contact with Quinn on their mutual 30th birthday. From this meeting blooms an undeniable connection that is slow to develop due to the huge chip on her shoulder but grows quite strong throughout the book. I really loved the chapters that dove back in time to explore various New Year's Eves from the past, revealing multiple connections between these two that they were not aware of. While it would have been nice to have more from Quinn's point of view, I liked jumping into it here and there, and it was nice to be along for the ride on Minnie's entire growth journey. The relationship that the two mothers form both during the birth of their children and after they reconnect years later is a nice bonus to see unfold. The ending here is very nice, but an epilogue would have provided the perfect capper.
