This Time Next Year was captivating and fun, and I read it in one day and enjoyed it quite a bit. Until the end, when it committed one of my biggest book pet peeves; it ended incredibly abruptly. As in, "wow, this relationship between He and She is really going some place, I hope they make it... OH they're kissing.... END!?" Honestly, another paragraph, some hint at what comes after, or ideally an epilogue would have launched This Time Next Year into a solid 4-star book, or possibly even 5. As it was, I felt I was left hanging.
3.5 - a cute easy read. Slightly slow in the middle but good nonetheless
Minnie Cooper. I get you. I love you. I feel like you are my soul sister. Clumsy and unlucky. Bless. Your. Heart.
This book is definitely a "journey book" the story is about the journey of Minnie and Quinn separately before they can come together. However, along the way I wasn't sure I liked Quinn very much. He made some very questionable decisions and the book did focus more on Minnie. I absolutely adore her.
The ending felt rushed, but along the way there were very emotional moments that made me tear up and laugh out loud funny situations that made me love this book so much.

Another ok read I thought I'd like it better maybe I'm just not into books today after finishing six of Crows yesterday
It had its good moments. Overall, there were a lot of toxic relationships… which the author only somewhat addressed. The romance was… not good. It had a bit of insta-love feel to the writing and no substance to back it up, and honestly I was disappointed in the ending. Many of the characters were caricatures. There were moments of really good advice in the book, and the lead female did evolve (somewhat). I have overall good feelings about the book, which is odd considering there’s a lot of negatives when I sit to analyze it.

I would love for this book to become as popular as Beach Read or other big romance novels.
The plot was original, the story was so well writing and just like Beach Read, this has a great mix between hard topics and the romance that we want.
Loved how the author gave us a lot of depth in almost every character, it was not just the main love story that we got to see, but I felt like I got to know everyone. Also it’s funny and British(I realized that I tend to prefer British romance novels idk)
Highly recommend if you love romance!

I constantly felt like I was wanting more. And not in the way of like...can’t book this down, I need to read more, but rather, I needed more of everything. Character development. Character interaction. More dialogue. I don’t know, just more. I didn’t mind the changing timeline or the different POVs in the past timeline chapters, but I got frustrated during the present timeline, because I felt like the characters just...didn’t interact enough. And when they finally were consistently interacting, half of it was just blown over by saying “and then we saw each other every week.” NO TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED EVERY WEEK. I NEED DEVELOPMENT.
I think I actually enjoyed the past timelines from Quinn’s POV more than the present timeline to be honest. I think I liked Quinn more than Minnie. But that being said, I may feel that way because Quinn’s personality was underdeveloped and Minnie’s was overdeveloped.
I still thought it was cute, and if you’re looking for a light-hearted, very cute, and chill romance, here you go. This book is perfect. It’s a very cute, tame little story.
