Most of the elements I like are in here, but this entry fell a little flat. The story has good elements but loses some steam when Spenser and Rachel get separated.

Forgettable little crime story, trying to get beefy from an infusion of feminist and sexual orientation debate - handled well for a 1970s story.

This book has so much heart and made me laugh - Spenser is such a cool character. The story is short but super SHARP and if you love tough guys with wit - this book and series is for you.

I kinda like the feminist lesbian angle for this VERY 1970s story as well as that because of inclement weather Spencer must walk out of Boston in a snow storm in order to find Rachel Wallace and kick her captors asses.

Spenser is hired as a bodyguard for an author who has received death threats. She fires him after a couple of days and then goes missing. Spenser begins the search for her... using what he had learned in those few days of contact. Interesting trip thru some groups in Boston that the tourist would not note.

This is one of my favourite spenser books and it's a great way to pass an afternoon as parker books are a fun action packed but quick read.
