I'm not sure if some of the story wasn't lost in translation, but it felt a little flat. I really liked the main character, the setting, and the conflict.

I found this book difficult to read but I was always intrigued to continue reading it at the same time. The main character is a woman who is obsessed with astrology and has very long spiels about horoscopes which I didn’t love. It’s got amazing reviews as being an incredible book and there were some interesting and dramatic moments but I just didn’t ’get into it’ in the way I want to with a book set in such an intense landscape- the very very rural Polish countryside. I feel like it was maybe a bit to introspective focused for me idk, the bits of action that happens were the bits that were my favourite.

Oldukça çarpıcı bir metindi. Okuduğum cinayet romanları arasında en anlamlısı olabilir. Janina Duszejko harika bir karakter, adalet de yerini buldu gerçekten. Daha önce hiç Polonya edebiyatından bir metin okumamıştım, Nobel'li yazarlarıyla başlamak kesinlikle iyi bir seçim oldu. Son 100-150 sayfada öyle bir sardı ki bitirmek için sabahladım, pişman değilim.
