A book that I’m sure I will go back to again and again. The essays ‘On Not Sleeping With Your Students’ and ‘On Sex, Carceralism, Capitalism’ were particularly interesting and well written. Some of this book poked the bear that lives in my brain who thinks I’m not intelligent enough for books like this - I had to read certain sentences again and again til they went in.

Talking to My Students About Porn is a 5 star chapter/essay that absolutely everyone should read. I did not enjoy Coda: The Politics of Desire nearly as much as the preceding chapters, but overall, I think this is a wonderfully thoughtful book - and is exactly what 21st century feminist conversations should and are all about.

Intelligent and thoughtful essays on sexual politics. Although she expresses many opinions on various topics, all of her thinking is driven by questions and she does not pretend to possess all the answers.
