that was one of the most phenomenal endings i’ve ever read. i was literally on the edge of my seat for the last 80 pages!!!

serilda is such a unique protagonist; i really liked her a lot! i also really enjoyed reading the parts where she told stories to the 5 schoolchildren. i thought that was something sweet to add into the story (and definitely made the ending more impactful). the romance was a bit insta-lovey and fast-paced, but it was very cute nonetheless!

the plot and mystery was very interesting and kept me hooked for the majority of the time! this is a pretty slow-paced book though, so you definitely have to be in the mood for it.

also, the writing was so beautiful. there were some paragraphs that had really immersive and descriptive writing that i really liked!!

like i said before, the ending was incredible. it really changed my view on the book as a whole. i really need to read cursed right now. definitely recommend gilded!! ˖°. ♔ ˖°.

“when it comes to the age-old art of storytelling, you need the darkness to appreciate the light.”
“all magical things are strange.”
“curiosity had always been a difficult thing for serilda to resist.”
“i know i’ve barely met you, but i can tell you’re worth all the luck in the world.”

What a great story. A very good retelling of a fairytale.

This book ended up being quite a bit darker than I expected. The story was so compelling I couldn't put it down. The author has a way of writing the story in such a way, that I felt I was literally IN the story. It was fascinating.

A very good retelling of Rumplestilskin, I actually like this retelling the most.
