This book was very……ok. While I enjoyed the writing in some parts, I felt the narrative was rushed at some points or there were things that felt a bit unnecessary. I fear that when reading translations of any book, it can be hard to grasp the original meaning of the sentences. Not to discredit the translator, who I think did a really good job, but I felt like there was just a little something missing. I really enjoyed this take on vampires, nothing really groundbreaking, but I did love this bisexual icon. Was really hoping it would be much more sapphic though. The ending left me a little flabbergasted, but in the sense of like why would someone ever do that… I’d be interested to try rereading this but in its original Spanish.

I loved Part 1, but Part 2 I was begging for the vampire to show up, and then when she did, I wasn’t given enough. I think it would have been better to intertwine the stories rather than separate in parts. I wish they explored more with each other, the ending felt rushed.
