This is a good in between book, something light if you just finished an emotional rollercoaster of a book.
Light character development, hit on surface level tension and emotion but that may have been the author’s goal.
I was looking for something easy so it fit the bill.
Spice was light, a few steamy scenes but nothing that gets you too hot and bothered.

I LOVE(D) THIS BOOK — I don’t ever think I can stop loving it.
The idea of the deals made by Maverick and the use of poker cards are just superb! I find it unique because I’ve never read anything like it and I think that’s exactly why I enjoyed at a lot.
The only issue I have here is that I didn’t have enough “sweet” moments between Maverick and Ainsley. I wish I saw more proof of them falling in love so I could have fallen with them together.
It was a light book and very entertaining. I laughed out loud in some of the scenes but my favorite, apart from the constant banter, will have to be when Sebastian called out Maverick to stop talking to his demon friends—I don’t why but I just found it so hilarious that even thinking about it now makes me laugh out loud still.
I highly recommend this book and I NEED the Aspen/Bennett story soon — I’m so intrigued about how Maverick described their relationship.

The characters have great banter and chemistry.
They are really likable and entertaining.
I love the humor and quirkiness of Ainsley and Maverick.
The secondary characters were great!
I laughed, I swooned and felt all the emotions!

IOU was a very enjoyable read with the perfect combination of humor and more serious topics. The characters are pretty charming and have a great chemistry. The plot itself is entertaining and different. The story is perfectly paced and has some twist and turns you didn't see coming.
If you are up for a wonderful romcom, this is definitely your book!
