Aaaaaa I loved this. Wish it had had a lot more Abby and Leah though!

I wanted to enjoy this book, I loved Simon Vs the Homosapiens Agenda and Leah on the Offbeat even more, however this book fell flat for me, it felt as though it didn't add much to the story at all which is disappointing considering that I love Becky Alberalli's writing. The only reason that I didn't DNF this book or rate it one star was because it was short and I was already invested in the characters. Simon was the worst part since for me it felt as though he had nothing of his original personality in there, some of the other characters suffered from this but I feel that Simon had the worst.

Would I recommend this book? No

I'm taking an extra half star off of my initial review just because they called Haverford a part of Philadelphia for the whole book. Overall, pretty decent. It doesn't really capture the charm of the other books in the series, but I guess that's to be expected from a hundred-page book comprised of only emails. Generally, it was cute, but not something to write home about.

I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed. I wasn't a big fan of the email only structure of this as it felt like big chunks of the story were missing (which they were, we never saw them. Their impact was discussed via email but we never actually see them happen).

A lot of Simon and Bram's emails felt repetitive and Nick was basically completely erased from the story which is pretty upsetting.

It was nice to see these characters again and Leah and Abby are a great couple that make a lot of sense together, their emails were some of the best in this book!

I have liked all of the other simonverse books but I will say that this had to be my least favorite. I was appreciative of getting to be with characters I have grown to love but the novella just feel totally flat for me. It seemed like a very pointless story to be told and it was super repetitive with how much everyone loved one another. It was clear from the beginning that there was a lot of love but it did not need to be the entire premise of this. I would say you can totally skip this as nothing was really gained from reading it.

I'm a huge fan of novellas and this one is entirely epistolary so I was always guaranteed to adore it.

Love, Creekwood has all the cute awkwardness of Simon Vs and Leah. Reading it was like catching up with old friends. Becky Albertalli's writing is friendly and heartfelt as always and I thoroughly enjoyed watching as the cast made cute but silly mistakes—even though reading them missing each other hurt so deeply. I think if I read this during different times it wouldn't have hit me as hard. Right now, when being separated from the people I love and missing them is the only thing I understand, this book was perfect.

I'm so glad I spent the afternoon reading.
