It was fun. I liked it. A couple plot holes, but enjoyable nonetheless. I liked the father son relationship building throughout the story.
I must be one of the few ones who doesn't mind the play format, but the whole story felt pretty much like a fanfic. Anyways, "love blinds".
PD: Scorpius Malfoy is precious. Period.

I wasn't expecting much going into this, but as a Harry Potter fan, I couldn't look at the cover, see "Harry Potter" and then "J.K. Rowling" and not feel excited. The whole thing was a pretty weird experience. A lot of people said it's a bit like "A Very Potter Musical" or a fanfic, and I agree. It's not bad, it has some cool moments, a lot of stuff for the fans, I felt, but it's like a fanfic in the sense of... It's a nice theory about how the story might've went after the books. Is it really a linear continuum of Harry's story and is it necessary? In my opinion, no. To be honest, I'm gonna file it in my brain as separate from the 7 previous books.
I think it's important to point out that J.K. DIDN'T actually write anything here, she's only credited for the story. This clarification, to me, was a relief because this doesn't resemble the great writing and characters of the books.
It feels, to me, that this play was written based on the movies rather than the books. For example, Ron's character in this version sort of pissed me off. He's one of the most relatable, real, and lovable characters in the novels, yet his movie version is watered down to be the comic relief sidekick who likes to eat. This appearance of the character was very much like that.
I also think I felt like this was mainly Albus's story, and his relationship with Harry. That interested me. The whole thing with Delphi was a bit... Meh. Maybe it could've worked if that was the main story, but it wasn't. All was well, and this play sort of craps all over that wonderful and powerful ending of the series. I would be very interested in a whole series about Albus Potter and his teenage years with his best friend Scorpius; I love their relationship, the way they serve as a mirror to each other, and help each other. Each with their own issues.
Long story short; this was a nice read. It's not a part of the Harry Potter series in my eyes, just a cool fanfic. Don't feel like you're missing out if you haven't read it yet.

I really enjoyed re-reading this. Picked it up for my trip to Universal, and was so happy + proud that I was able to finish it on the airplane.
I would love more actual background on the cursed child, but without spoilers I don't think I can do a proper review. Just know that, even though it's in screenplay form, it's a delightful read and I love it!!!!!!
Most amazing book this year of 2016.
It had many plot swists. It was the first book that I have ever read in one day because I couldn't stop reading it. It was adventurous and unpredictable. I love the book so much!
