I'm sure my expectations were way too high, but I'm disappointed in this. The story is weak, the writing is very weak, it's just not what I've come to expect from J.K. I feel like the other two authors wrote like high school kids and then they just asked her for permission and used her name to avoid legal issues. Not a good representation of the HP books. Hopefully her other novels come back to the level of greatness we expect.
I was a little skeptical about how much I’d enjoy this given the magic that readers associate with fully fledged Harry Potter novels, but I need not have worried. The plot focuses on Harry’s second son, Albus, and his friendship with Draco’s son, Scorpius (kind of setting your kid up for failure there), which stays true to a major HP theme of valuing people/love/friendship above all else. The duo set out on an adventure to undo a particular element of the past which unravels a much darker issue for all. Filled with humour and the same beloved characters (with a few surprises), you get used to the format quickly. Readers are reminded of elements in the past novels (i.e. the secret in the girl’s bathroom), brought back to life again. It was brief in many ways, and I take issue with a major plot point which I can't reveal without spoiling something major, but overall a nice read considering it's a script.
honestly not bad but not amazing. entertaining and easy to read as it was a play script but it certainly did make me miss the HP series.

It's worse than a fan fic written by a 14 years old girl. I can't believe that there are proffesionals behind this.
