GODDDDDDD this book was glorious, perfect, no notes, i’m obsessed with this entire series, it jumped so quickly to #2 spot in my favorite series! this book especially was so emotional and gripping and because of jude’s gray morality, it was hard to predict how she was going to solve problems but she slayed (literally) as always! the tension, the character development, the action, the twists, every single plot moment was perfect and i’m SO sad this series is over now! i haven’t read a series this fast since the grishaverse. obsessed obsessed.

Unfortunately a slightly lackluster ending to this series. I just felt like there wasn't quite enough plot things going on - too much of a continuation of Maddoc just being annoying without it staying interesting. Also, I didn't understand why we should be so quick to forgive Taryn? Sure I guess she married an asshole (that's on her!), but did she really earn Jude's forgiveness? Imo no!

The ending curse twist was interesting I guess but also easily resolved. Idk I guess I just expected to have a little more devastation in this series in general?

A friend send me Cardan's letters and WHY were those not included in every edition?! Gods that was the best part and it wasn't even included!

I thought this was a different way of ending the series. Going into the book, the other two books whilst feeling different were more tied together in their political drama angle of the book. This felt different to as it was less focused on the political aspect, and more on the fantastical areas. This lead to what felt like it went pretty fast read once we got back in the world of Faerie.
Whilst I would have liked more political drama in this book, I think this fantastical view fits much better as anything more political might have felt too much like the second book. I still had a lot of fun with this book and thought it still had solid characters and interactions that drew me into the series to begin with. I could also see how the ending ties into the the spin off series around Oak. I thought it was fun to see. I really liked how everything was wrapped up and it felt like a happy ending but also a realistic one for this world.

I can see why people didn't want to leave this world once they finished the series. It has just been a lot of fun reading and following these characters.

This series was an absolute joy to read. I never thought I would love fantasy politics as much as I have through these books. I do wish there was a tad more substance to Jude and Carden's romance, but overall the entire series was interesting and didn't leave me once wanting to put it down.

Beautiful relationships built and solidified in this book. Full of tenderness in between the violence and horror. The climax ended more quickly than I expected, and a few character arcs seemed to fully change direction from the previous books, but overall an extremely satisfying ending to a fantastic trilogy.
