Good amount of farts poop and vomit.
Part 2 was definitely the better one.

I know this is a classic and the most translated book other than the Bible - but I just couldn't get into it. I listened to the audiobook version, 36 very long hours. Although, the narrator did a fine job, nice voice and clearly read. As a parody, I didn't find it all that funny. Maybe it's just me and I couldn't connect with it. I found it quite boring.
This was a loooong read (a long listen, I guess, since I listened to the audiobook lol). This classic was a WILD ride. The trouble that Don Quixote and Sancho were pretty funny, but they were also a little mind-blowing at how Don Quixote was seeing a completely different world than anyone else. I wouldn't read this again, but I'm glad I did read it.
Another classic book that I really loved but just got tired of after 30 hours or so. Great stories and insights but I did not long to finish the journey with him..and didn't. Maybe I will go back and finish it in a year or two.

Long fucking book. Honestly it could have been shorter. But never really a moment of dullness. The book is composed of a lot of different vignettes showing the madness of Don Quixote and his squire. There's no real coherency aside the consistency of the two main characters. In a sense it really feels like a series of quirky adventures our knight has to tackle through.
Don Quixote also feels like a takedown to its chivalry genre the way spaghetti / revisionist Westerns are to the Western genre. It's an embracement of the absurdity of people.
