This story gave me a perspective on fame I never considered. After reading this, I have so much more empathy for celebrities. I catch myself speculating their decisions, news articles, etc. and pausing to realize that I have no idea who these people are and that I can’t pass judgement on them because of that. I’m so glad I read this.

This was a reread from 2017 when I first read the book (which was also the time that the book was not that famous as it is now), and I feel that the book still holds up! I swear TJR laced this book with drugs- fast paced, easily readable, with a central character I couldn't take my attention away from, and heartbreaking too. Still has some sour spots here and there but overall a great book!

This book emotionally wrecked me and I don’t think I could be more grateful for it. You can tell it was made with so much heart and care for the characters. Evelyn is the mysterious starlet you come to know and love. You come to love Monique quickly and deeply, almost as much as you end up caring for her. The mix of the two is so fun to read and makes the story so interesting. The conflict at the end hits you so hard but leads to a great conversation about grieving and how memories affect our opinions of other people. The only reason it’s not a 5-star is cause I found some of the pacing wonky and it took more time than anticipated to get into. But, I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
