Very well written, the ‘twist’ at the end was a little predictable. Did not expect the book to be about anything other than a rich woman and her seven husbands, but the last line sums the whole story up well.

I enjoyed her various love stories in all their forms. I was not a fan of the ending and I am sensitive to the topic of cheating so this wasn't my thing.

This was a smart book. Quite similar to "Daisy Jones and the Six" but still distinguishable. I really liked the characters, not one of them was 100% good. Everyone was flawed and did terrible things but you come to care for them anyways.

This still holds up upon re-read which definitely says something. I loved the way the book was sectioned into each husband and the story revolving around the time Evelyn married them. I realise the Evelyn is a bit of a polarising character perhaps, but I love the depth of her character, and how even though she’s the forefront of the story, we still got to understand Monique’s character well in fewer words. The last few chapters or so were definitely the best in the book, and touched on some very important topics, but it definitely does require some content warnings.

Probablement un de mes livres préférés. Je regrette la traduction parfois trop littérale du texte, mais j'espère que c'est un garant de sa justesse. À mettre entre toutes les mains. 😊

Evelyn Hugo is a quintessential fictional biography that has consumed my waking moments. If you do anything, it should be to read this novel.
