Interesting musing on the corporeal essence of human nature, where the body and dance can express what words cannot.
I enjoyed how intertwined the biological and mental state of the main character was. We often think of ourselves as highly intellectual creatures whose work is so far detached from our bodies, but we are also bodies that have needs.

I would like to revisit this book when I’m going through menopause or feel like I’m going through the motions of domestic life, hopefully it will ignite a sense of companionship and freshness.

This book was a whirlwind! I really felt like I got sucked into the writing, but the actual content was very... intense. Perhaps I was not the target audience, I could imagine people who are around the same age or managing their own conflicting feelings on life could get a lot more from it. I feel I can't recommend this book to anyone I know, but I want for one of them to have read it so that I could talk to them about it. I enjoyed the calmer (or maybe just more...rounded?) tone that came out towards the end, and that this book was unlike anything else I have ever read. I also really appreciated a lot of the reassurance it gave about aging, menopause, the future in general. It was intriguing to say the least, and I am glad I read it.

I'm not really sure how to rate this book. July's prose is beautiful and the story is original. There were a few times that I was rolling my eyes but overall I liked it. I think.
